When should you repaint — and why does timing matter?
Signs it's time for an exterior repaint
Chalking (that white powder that comes off on your hand), fading on south-facing elevations, peeling or flaking near the ground, and caulk that's cracked at siding joints. If any two of those are present, the paint is at the end of its life.
