Painters Who Paint to your specification.

You choose the product, the color and the sheen. We put exactly that on the wall, write it into the estimate surface by surface, and paint sample patches on site for you and your client to approve before the full coats go on.

A design is only as good as its execution, and paint is where a spec most often drifts. A product line swapped for a cheaper one, an eggshell that went on as satin, a color mixed from a different brand's formula: each one is small, and together they are why a finished room does not match the rendering.

Our rule is simple. What you specify is what we buy and apply, and if something in the spec won't work on a surface, you hear about it before the paint is ordered.

Working from your spec

What the estimate spells out.

  • Brand and product line for each surface, as specified
  • Color name and code, and sheen, for walls, ceilings, trim and doors
  • Primer and number of finish coats
  • Sample patches on site before full coats, when you want them
  • Any spec concerns raised in writing, before paint is ordered

Getting color approved without surprises

Most color disappointments come from approving a chip instead of a wall. Three habits prevent nearly all of them:

  1. Sample big, on the real wall. A patch of a couple of square feet, painted on the wall it is meant for, shows the color in the room's own light.
  2. Check it twice a day. North-facing rooms read cooler, south-facing warmer, and evening lamps shift everything. Look in the morning and at night before signing off.
  3. Use LRV to plan contrast. Each manufacturer publishes a light reflectance value for every color. Comparing the numbers for walls, trim and ceiling tells you in advance whether the trim will pop or disappear.

Sheen matters as much as color: the same color in matte and in semi-gloss reads as two different finishes. The paint sheen guide and our comparison of Benjamin Moore Aura vs. Regal Select are useful references when writing a spec, and our color combinations page shows tested pairings.
