Why most paint color “generators” fail
Most paint-color tools throw three random colors at you and call it a palette. The problem: paint doesn't live in isolation. A color that looks great on a swatch fights with the wood floor, the kitchen tile, the cabinet stain, and the natural light pattern of a real Metro West home.
The pairings above are pulled from real projects
Every palette on this page came off a real Metro West or Greater Boston project we completed — from a 1920s craftsman in Natick to a contemporary build in Sudbury. The wall + trim + accent combinations work together because we've seen them work together, in actual rooms, in actual New England light.
Always sample before committing
Even with these palettes, paint reads radically different in your home's specific light. Always buy a sample pot, paint a 2×2 ft section on each wall (north, south, east, west exposure if possible), and live with it for 24 hours before deciding. Free color consulting is included on every estimate we write.
