Norton was incorporated in 1711, yet the Census puts the median construction year of its housing at 1982. Those two numbers frame the exterior work here. About 11% of housing units predate 1940, and some buildings around the Town Common date to the early 1700s, while a larger group went up during the 1980s and 1990s and has had decades of weather on its siding.
