Our Workmanship Warranty — in writing, every estimate.
Every AJ Painting project includes a written workmanship warranty. Exact terms — coverage, duration, exclusions — are confirmed in writing on each signed estimate before work begins, because different services and project scopes warrant different language.
We don't publish one-size-fits-all warranty terms because no two projects are the same. A whole-home exterior on cedar clapboard, a kitchen cabinet refinish, and an interior repaint of three bedrooms each carry different risk profiles, different cure times, and different prep requirements. Lumping them under one universal warranty either over-promises on the hard ones or under-promises on the easy ones.
Instead: every estimate we send is line-itemed with the warranty terms specific to that scope. You read them before you sign. If you have questions about the language, ask before signing — we'll talk them through.
What workmanship warranties usually include.
Note: below is what reputable Massachusetts painting workmanship warranties typically include. AJ Painting's actual warranty terms are confirmed in writing on every estimate — what's shown here is industry context, not the guaranteed scope of your specific project.
- Peeling, cracking, or blistering on properly prepped surfaces
- Coating-adhesion failure (paint pulling away from substrate)
- Visible defects missed at the final walk-through
- Caulk or primer failures within the warranty window
Common exclusions in any workmanship warranty.
- Structural movement (settling cracks, foundation shifts)
- Water intrusion behind the paint (roof leaks, failed flashing)
- Substrate failures by others (rotted wood, failed siding nailing)
- Normal wear (kid scuffs, doorknob rub-off, sun fade)
- Third-party damage (movers, contractors, weather events)
- DIY work performed on the painted surface after the project
How to make a warranty claim
Call (508) 258-4325 or email info@ajpaintingservicesinc.com within the warranty period stated on your signed estimate. Send a photo of the issue and the project address. We schedule a site visit, assess in person, and resolve approved claims per the terms confirmed at signing.
What to ask any painter about warranty before signing
- Is the warranty in writing, attached to or printed on the quote?
- What's the exact duration and when does it start (signing date, completion date, final walk-through)?
- What's covered (peel, crack, blister, adhesion) and excluded?
- What's the claim process and how fast should you expect a response?
- Is the warranty transferable to a new owner if you sell?
"Satisfaction guaranteed" or a verbal promise isn't a real warranty. A real warranty has all five items above in writing.
